NIGEL GETS A SECOND CHANCE WITH FELINE FRIENDZ |
| |
Nigel’s story does not have a happy ending, but it is an example of what our volunteers deal with. Nigel was part of a litter whose mother was hit by a car and 2 of his litter mates were also found dead. Nigel and two other litter mates were taken in to be cared for. At the time they were 7 days old. Nigel’s brothers died a week later from unknown causes after everything possible was done to give them a chance. Nigel had a bacterial infection which caused lung problems and improper development of his rear legs. At his care takers home, Nigel was tube fed and medicated. |

| Nigel was brought to a local veterinarian for monitoring and adjusting his medication. For six weeks, Nigel fought valiantly for his life. Nigel’s little body could not overcome the infection and the decision was made to put him to sleep. |

| GENEVIEVE GETS 2ND CHANCE AT LIFE |
Genevieve was 3 weeks old when she was found abandoned along railroad tracks dehydrated and malnourished. She was taken to a local veterinarian where she received the care needed for her survival. Again, Feline Friendz took up the challenge to give her a better life. Genevieve was tube fed and later bottle fed so that she could regain the strength she needed to survive. |
| As time went on she started to act like a healthy kitten. Genevieve has become a loving kitten and even accepts being around dogs. Genevieve recently returned to the veterinarian clinic to be spayed. The staff could not believe that this was the same little kitten that was near death. |
